Hi,

i just installed a fresh copy of Windows 8. I was running Windows 7 and i had my bluetooth device off. Now when i try to install the bluetooth drivers using broadcom software i failed cause it needs to have the bluetooth on. As far as i know i can turn on my bluetooth only by software. On HP website there is a program called "HP Wireless Assistant" where Wi-Fi and Bluetooth can be turned on or off. This cannot be installed on Windows 8 and a pop-up message indicates "HP Wireless Assistant cannot be installed on systems with .NET framework smaller than 2.0".

Is there anything i can do or do i have to go back into Windows 7?

Try this:

Right click on the bottom left corner and hit device manager. Open the Bluetooth category and right click on the Bluetooth device that is not functioning and hit enable.

Hi reconrey,

there isn't any bluetooth category in device manager.

That's odd... Is the Bluetooth chip inserted correctly? You could also try running Windows Update and see if Windows have a driver available for it (Be sure to check optional updates too). And try installing .NET framework 4.5 and then try installing "HP Wireless Assistant."

I have manage to solve the problem by installing .NET framework 3.5 Service pack 1 (Full Package). Then, i was able to install HP Wireless Assistant, turn on the bluetooth device and install the appropriate drivers.
