Well, this juicy bit of news comes from The Verge. It seems Nokia will be announcing an RT tablet at CES 2013! A rumor says that it will have a kickstand, a special cover, and an extra battery, and it's built by Nokia! So basically they're using the Surface's design here, very good on them! And, it will have att data capabilities and sold by them. Makes me wonder if a different GSM carrier can be used....

Also rumored, they may build a Windows 8 Pro tablet as well, this will probably be further next year I bet.

This is definitely tempting! Going to be lots of options soon!

This was publish the other day and provides some interesting insight into Nokia's potential way ahead:

Speaking to reporters in Sydney, Mr Elop said the company was not yet announcing anything, and had not yet made any formal decisions, but his comments suggested Nokia would look to add to its Lumia smartphone line with a tablet device.

“We haven’t announced tablets at this point, but it is something we are clearly looking at very closely. We are studying very closely the market right now as Microsoft has introduced the Surface tablet, so we are trying to learn from that and understand what the right way to participate would be and at what point in time.”

“We would consider any option [Android or Windows] … It is important to note that the opportunity for companionship is something that any user is looking for. So, when you think about the Lumia 920, running on Windows phone, having a Windows tablet or PC or Xbox is something that will give us the opportunity to have a pretty integrated experience. Our first focus on what we look at is clearly in the Microsoft side,” Mr Elop said

“But we have made no decision or announced nothing.”

And on Android (regarding the mobile phone platform):

He said Nokia considered Android, but felt the market was becoming too crowded. The growing dominance of Samsung, he said, had vindicated that decision.

“On the Android side, we were very worried that we would be entering Android late relative to everyone else in the industry, that perhaps one vendor was already well on the road to being the dominant Android vendor at the expense of everyone else,” Mr Elop said.

“If we look back two years to when we made the decisions, then Samsung was big, HTC was pretty big and Motorola was pretty big. Of course what has happened in the two years isthat Samsung has captured the lion’s share of it and the others have been squeezed down to much smaller market share. We were worried about exactly that pattern forming.”

Nokia chief suggests Windows tablets on the way.

My ideal selection of a tablet PC would be from ASUS, Nokia, or Microsoft. If ASUS comes out with SUCH a beautiful and capable tablet PC, that might sell me. If Nokia releases a Windows 8 Pro tablet, ooooooohhhhh!! If Microsoft releases a Surface Pro 2 with an AMD APU and some improvements in specs and prices, YES!

I don't even know.
