    Tip   Tip

Want to save time? Not sure if you need this file?

Run this easy to use Intel® Driver Update Utility and it will "automatically" tell you if you need to update your chipset INF file, and if so, will prompt you to install and you are done. This will save you a lot of time not only on your chipset download but the most common files needed for your system.

    Name changes:
Intel® Chipset Device Software is the new name for the Intel® Chipset Software Installation Utility; this name will be seen when running the installation package.

    About this file/download:
The Intel® Chipset Device Software installs the Windows* INF files. An INF is a text file that provides the operating system with information about a piece of hardware on the system. In the case of the current Intel Chipset Device Software, that information is primarily the product name for the piece of hardware. This allows the operating system to show the correct name for that piece of hardware in Device Manager.

    **Important**
The Intel Chipset Device Software does not install drivers for AGP or USB. DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS UTILITY IF YOUR DEVICE MANUFACTURER IS RECOMMENDING IT TO CORRECT AN "AGP DRIVER," "AGP GART," OR "USB DRIVER" ISSUE; IT WILL NOT CORRECT YOUR ISSUE.

The Intel P61/H61 Utility DVD containing chipsets/Serial-ATA/Network/Audio Drivers and bios doesnt run with windows 8. So should I download them from mother board page? Should I download the lates bios too if so ?

    Hello StefaNafetS,

The latest "Intel INF" driver version for your motherboard at GIGABYTE is 9.3.0.1021, so using the latest 9.3.0.1026 version directly from Intel would be better.
As for your BIOS, it shows the latest version as F8d at GIGABYTE for your motherboard. It's a beta version, but says it adds support for Windows 8. It really up to you if you want to update this or not. If you do not know how to, then I wouldn't recommend messing with it though.
    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

    Thank you vey much!!

Hmmmm.. this Intel INF doesnt do the same job as the utility recomended above?

And what about the other items from my motherboard download section like Intel Management Engine Interface. That could be outdated too.

do you know if I i should go to realteck and to download the audio and lan driver from there. The one listed for my motherboard has a odd name "
Realtek Function driver for Realtek Azalia audio chip (Including Microsoft UAA Driver in English edition)".

and the SATA RAID/AHCI ones I hope they can be easy installed. It says something to press

And waht should be the instalation order of all these?

I wouldn't recommend installing any driver unless you are 100% sure that it's for the exact same device or H61 Express chipset on your system.

As for the order, it really doesn't matter as long as you do them one at a time.

    9.3.1 sounds good!

I'll see if it applies to my card.

    Thanks

Ok. I got HM77, it's on the list so I'll give it a try.

That driver website is very good.

    PS:
One driver that always gives me BSOD's when I change it: Xeon(R) E3-1200... located on system devices.
The solution is installing it in Safe Mode. Works all the time.

None of the 9.3.1 chipest drivers were succesfully installed in my case. It's just not compatible. I'll wait for HM77 chipset.

In the readme it says "Preview Release" or something so there will be other patches until the final release I guess.
