As for the order, it really doesn't matter as long as you do them one at a time.
well I think i should Install all things from my motherboard page

What concerned me lately and raised this question if to update /flash bios or not ( I was "techyproof" till now so I dont know what BIOS realy does) is a kind of display glitch that appears before windows 8 lock screen appears at start /restart and a notable delay in starting/restarting time than with my 1st win8 install.

I think this appeared after I installed my windows 7 back ( dont ask me why..)( a clean install) and installed my win8 back again.I dont think Ive done them corectly:

I couldnt install win 7 it in C ,neither to format that partition because of this message [Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI systems, Windows can only be installed to GPT disks] and an error code 0x0000 smth... while attempting to format the C. I could only manage to instal windows 7 back after deleting all of the partiton and now I have a single C one.

When Ive tried to reinstall windows 8 these days I expected to see only a partiton where to put my windows but instead there were other minor ones too ( they dint shown during my win7 install) like they appear now if I open disk management

So now I have that glitch when starting windows 8. I dont know how to describe it: its a black screen -with that windows 8 doted loading wheel -partially covering my Motherboard logo screen ( that screen at startup with bios setup, boot menu options etc).I say partially becuase I can see parts of my motherboard screen on left and right but they are kinda shredded and disolved into scraps. This appears after the clean Motherboard screen witht those options I mentioned above. On my 1st win 8 install this dint use to happen.

So Now I f I want to do a clean correct install of windows 8 what should I do?asking these in the context of those EFI , recovery partitions I havent seen till now while installing windows.

    StefaNafetS,

Agreed. You should install all drivers from your motherboard page.

I would recommend to create a new thread for your other issue to get better help with it though since it is going off topic from this thread.

Am I ok to install this driver? The Asus site doesn't have any drivers at all for Windows 8. Tried installing the Windows 7 one but no go there. I would rather be 100% sure it's the right one before I go ahead.

This is my motherboard ASUS - Motherboards- ASUS P7P55D

    Thanks in advance

    Hello Flik,

You would want to look for the Intel 5 series express chipset drivers since your motherboard has an Intel P55 Express Chipset.

There's not currently any available for Windows 8 on Intel's download page, but the 9.3.1.1009 WHQL version at Station Driver below has one available for Windows 8 for your P55 series. You would click on the DL disk I have boxed in red below at the link. These drivers are safe from them.

    Hope this helps,

When I installed this driver with setup utility none of the Intel drivers were upgraded to the latest version when I checked driver versions in device manager. Drivers were microsoft's default ones from 2009 or something.

What I did was simply extracted zip driver from Intel to the folder, then went trough each Intel(R) driver listed in device manager, pressed update driver >> Browse my computer for driver software and chose folder where I extracted zip file and did this with each intel driver. Now drivers seem to be the latest ones

That's the real story... Especially those listed in "System Devices", "USB", and "Disk Controllers" need this procedure.
