We are in the throes of getting used to Win8 on a new laptop (Dell Inspiron 64bit). Quite a culture shock coming from Vista!
Our inkjet is an elderly Canon IP 5000, still giving good service. However the driver cd is tossed out by Windows 8. Printer documentation says:
'USB operation can only be guaranteed on a PC with preinstalled Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows Me or Windows 98'.
No mention even of Vista, which gives you a good idea of its age! However it offends me to throw out a perfectly good device, for which cartridges are still freely available.
I have contacted Canon, but there's total silence.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
