Hello, I just upgraded from Win7 64x to Win 8 pro Build 9800 x64 last night and ever since I cannot connect or even see any wireless networks listed. Nor is my wireless network adapter show up anywhere including the device manager. The device manager shows two unknown devices here are the descriptions it shows: 1) Network Controller Unknown manufacturer Location PCI bus4 device 1 function 0 Status The drivers for this device are not installed.
2) Unknown device Unknown manufacturer Location on Intel(r) 82801GB/GR (ICH7 Family) LPC Interface Controller - 27B8. I have tried downloading drivers, I have been using the ones from these links. Btw my wireless card is a TRENDnet TEW-643PI.

This article might help. Searching on "wireless network adapter Windows 8 connect" might help. And, you should be able to buy a new one that is compatible with Win8 for not many dollars.

It sucks but you may be better off just buying a new (Windows 8 compatible) wireless card. You could also try reseating the card in it's slot, or even moving it to a different slot on the motherboard. Windows may redetect it and actually identify it properly. If you are trying to install a Windows 7 driver try compatibility mode and running the installer as Administrator.
