Solved xerox 4800 scanner driver

Hi all

I need help, the trusted Acer notepad has died and been replaced with a Compaq CQ58 loaded with Windows 8. Now being some what techno void I assumed loading from the setup disc would be no prob.

Having now found out that this was not the case I checked xerox web site but it appears that there is no driver available or not one that I can find.

Now being new to the forum I'm not sure if there is a thread for this somewhere perhaps some kind person can point me in the right direction.

Hi and welcome to the forum Xerox don't even have a Windows 7 drivers, only a beta drivers for Windows Vista , so your best bet will be to plug it and see if Windows 8 can install a generic driver for it. If not you may have to purchase a new scanner. I'm not surprise here, scanner as always been left over by companies.

Thanks for the reply, will give it a try if it doesn't work then will get my son to put it on his HP loaded with Vista.

I know it sucks, I remember when peoples switch from 98 to XP, they Logitech, Canon and HP scanners was not working on XP, same with Web cams from XP to 7, manufacturers don,t like to pay employees to update drivers, they want peoples purchase their new stuff. I'm surprise of Xerox, it's not their style.
