    Coprocessor error

My mobo is GA-E7AUM-DS2H with Nvidia GeForce 9400 onboard.
I have installed Windows 8 and in Device Manager the Coprocessor is marked as missing.
I have installed GeForce 310.33 Driver BETA.
Also with heavy traffic on the LAN port the computer reboots very often.
How can this be fixed ?

Why on Earth did you use that unreadable font color? Shows as very light grey in IE9.

That's probably a symptom of needing to install the drivers for the MCP7A chipset. That may also fix your LAN problems.

I think that nVidia may not have released Windows 8 chipset drivers. Try the Win7 ones, maybe?

Sorry about the fonts ... I did not explicitly chose the color ... something just went wrong.

    I found NVIDIA MCP7A Chipset Driver (include chipset\lan\sata raid driver) OS:Windows Vista x86 (32-bit) ... on site http://ee.gigabyte.com/products/page...h_10/download/ ... I will try that one.

Yes - I ran compatibility software but was not alerted about the coprocessor.
area 66 - why is it problem with that chipset ?

The problem is that nVida may not have co-operated with Microsoft to include custom drivers for the chipset in the Windows installer.

I had that happen with my old (2008) laptop with Windows 7. (nVidia chipset, AMD CPU). However, drivers are now available through Windows Update.

I am a little bit confused.
After I ran Windows Update the coprocessor was still marked in Device Mgr.
Then I executed the downloaded file 'motherboard_driver_chipset_nvidia_mcp7a_vista32.exe' and it asked me if I wanted to replace some drivers that came with Windows (I think it had to do with sata & lan stuff). I said OK.
After that I checked Device Mgr ... still coprocessor was marked.
I then right-clicked at the coprocessor in Device Mgr and told I want to update the driver and pointed to 'motherboard_driver_chipset_nvidia_mcp7a_vista32.exe' ... then driver was installed and coprocessor was NOT marked as missing.

So my question is - did I do things in right order or have I missed something so that things had gone worst.
I am not so familiar with Windows

I had this issue on my HP G60 when I installed Windows 8 on it. It had the Nvidia chipset on it and the problem was resolved with the HP SP45169 driver pack which included drivers for the SMU which was the issue. Find the driver pack that includes drivers for your SMU and hopefully the issue will also be resolved for you. Im sorry i cant be more definate, but hopefully its the right direction.

    Solution:

    1. Open Device Manager
    2. Right click coprocessor
    3. Update Driver Software
    4. Browse computer for driver software
    5. Select the entire C:\ - or whichever drive your local disk is located on. Include subfolders in search.
    6. NVIDIA nForce System Management Controller driver will be installed.

    Problem solved.
