Were you able to install the drivers? Can you describe what happens?

    Okay, that's great.

But what happens with the wireless receiver and your Xbox pad when you try to sync them?

Make sure the receiver light is solid, not flashing, then press the sync button on the Xbox pad. When the lights start circling, press the receiver button once so that it starts flashing (don't hold the button). Do the lights stop circling when you do this or do they continue for a while after?

Okay, yes. Seems very much like it's a hardware issue. Good thing you sent it for repair :O)

Many thanx Lloyd. I followed all the steps regarding the driver not recognising and it wasn't until I picked the older of the two for some reason (second to last) that it started working.

To me, this is a huge oversight on Microsoft's part. Imagine being able to boot up your PC, go to Metro, then fire up Steam big picture mode and play your games without ever needing to touch your mouse and keyboard (except, of course, if you are playing an FPS or RTS :3 ) I don't get why this...

I'm looking for a Windows 8-specific controller driver, if such a driver exists. I went to the Microsoft downloads website and a few other sites of theirs, and all I see are drivers for XP, Vista, and 7. I assume the drivers for 7 will work fine on Windows 8 But do I need to install it in 7...
Hey there -- I spent a couple of hours searching for a solution when I could not get my Xbox 360 Wireless Controller Receiver to function in Windows 8 Pro x64. I finally figured it out after following a post in the 7 forum. Even then, I had to kind of make it up as I went along. I thought I'd...
I have a classic wired controller and am currently using the official MS drivers. I am wondering where I can find alternative drivers that will, for example, allow me to make full use of the orb button and remap keys. I have already tried JoyToKey and Xpadder and they work fine, but am looking for...
