Solved Lexmark Pinnacle Pro901 software not working.

On the Lexmark website, my printer Pinnacle Pro901 is listed on the windows 8 compatilbility list, but says "use the driver provided by windows." Ive tried unistalling and reinstalling X3 and no luck. I can't find any information from Lexmark and can't find anything on Forums yet.

The Windows 8 compatibilty tells us to re-install---but no luck. Anyone have any solution or know anything about the status of new drivers?

I decided to read the Printer install instructions and it was right in plain site ...but hidden.

It doesnt need the software. Windows can do both the USB install and the network wireless install, but it was tricky and obscure. MS should make it more visually obvious or automate it.

Now if i can get the Cinema Lifecam working....

Can you give me a hand with this?

Would you please tell me how to go about installing my pinnacle pro 901 wirelessly...I tried downloading the driver update, but it says that my OS is not compatible. lilia@digitalray.com

Here's how I finally got my pro-901 to work wirelessly on Win 8.
1.)Go to Print Management. Can be reached by doing search for print, from Start.
2.)On left side click print servers>user(local)>printers.
3.)On right side, right click and select add printer. Or you can go to Control Panel>View Devices and Printers>Add Printer(at top)
4.)Search network for printer
5.)"Pro800-Pro900" series should show up if your printer is connected to your network.
6.)Select Standard>Generic Network Card
7.)Select Install a New Driver
8.)Select "Windows Update" Located below list. Takes about 5 minutes to update.
9.)Select "Lexmark Inkjet Drivers" and Pro800-Pro900 Series.
10.)Rename Printer if desired and install driver.

I hope that works for everyone. Lexmark does not have the driver on their site. I thought it was hopeless for a while, and almost bought a new printer. Good Luck.

I was trying to figure out how to install the printer on my new laptop for hours and had almost lost hope until I saw this. It worked like a charm! So thank you thank you for taking the time to share that... you really helped me!

i just plugged it the eithernet cable and its printing fine.... add to printers and devices ...

My pro901 is networked to talk to my win 7 desktop. But I do not see the printer on either of my win 8 laptops. I got the usb to work (similar to above) but it does not show pro901 wireless. How is this done in win8?

I got the pro901 to install by manually entering the TCP info. It installed and showed up. It printed a test page. But now the printer goes to sleep and the win 8 laptop won't wake it up.
