New driver needed to increase USB3 performance in Z77 chipset. Performance is really low compared to same port in Win7, but for some reason the driver from Windows 7, won't install!! (Is not compatible it says).

Yes. It won't install as it claims to have compatible problems with Windows 8.
Can it be forced to install (with succes)?

It can not be as far as I am aware of. I am having the same issue with the same Intel USB chipset on my laptop.. very slow performance where-as in Windows 7 it was fine. I posted something to Intels Forum and trying to get an Intel Rep to give me some ideas on what to do or maybe when they are planning to release a USB 3 updated driver for Windows 8.

ASUS has just issued a Win8 USB3 driver for their boards. I have their Z77 chipset board and the driver works great. Go to www.asus.com and pick a Z77 board (I have the P8Z77-V PRO/Thunderbolt) and go to downloads.

Under "OS:" select the down arrow, then select "Windows 8 64 bit". Scroll down to "Utilities". Click the - sign and scroll down to "USB3_Boost for Windows8". This is the driver you want. Click "Global" to download.

Im also noticing slow read/write times using USB3 devices under W8 but i was under the impression we (Z77 owners) needed the Intel USB 3.0 Extensible Host Controller drivers for windows 8 to get full speed.
I've been checking the Asus website since last weekend but nothing. I'll give the USB boost utility a go but im pretty sure thats not really the answer, although if it works thats great news
