Windows 8 Pro Upgrade over Windows 7 Home Premium...

Windows 8 only sees one Optical Drive at a time. I have two DVD drives, one is a reader the other a DVD RW. The Bios sees both drives. Windows 8 will see either one or the other but not both. They both worked fine in Windows 7. All other hardware works fine.

Hardware:
One SSD drive
One SATA 2 Hard drive
One Rosewell Memory card reader
One DVD ROM Drive (SATA)
One DVD RW Drive (SATA)

Well that didn't work Dave76, but something else did...

All four SATA slots are filled on my mobo. The optical drive on slot 3 wasn't being seen by Win8, but the Optical drive on slot 4 was. Had Slots 1 & 2 used by an SSD and a SATA2 Hard drive. I rearranged so slot 1 was still the SSD, slot 2 now an optical drive, slot 3 now the SATA2 hard drive, and slot 4 the second optical drive. Now everything shows up in Windows 8.

This shouldn't work but it did, but then Windows 8 should have seen both optical drives to begin with as Windows 7 had no trouble with the original configuration.

Glad it's working.

Might have been a loose connection.
