If you're using the official release of Windows 8 Enterprise trial, you'll need to activate it. PC Settings doesn't have an entry to Activate, so you'll need to go to the Desktop to do so. The little Action Center icon on the lower right hand side (a little flag) should have a red X. Click on it, and it should say you need to activate. Do so, and you'll get those customizing features unlocked.

I customised the lock-screen in the Enterprise RTM, with some interesting results.

On one of my HDDs is a pic of Rhona Mitra dressed as Lara Croft (and, IMO, looking
better than A. Jolie!), so I decided to use that as the lock-screen pic.

Well, Windows decided that I only needed to see the bits between neck and navel
so this is what it gave me.....

I'll crop/resize later to make it fit properly.

Maybe.

:D:D:huh:

I had the same problem on another system. I looked for driver Windows 8 updates for the video card and could find none. So just as a test I took the video card from another computer running Win8 and replaced it. I was then able to change the settings, they were nolonger "faded out".

So I'd suggest replacing the video card or see if the drivers can be updated.... Worked for me....
