OS: Windows 8.1 Pro
Hello everyone,
on the start screen how can I disable/remove/hide the search icon next to the user avatar and user name?
I have seen so many screenshots floating around that are not showing the icon but I can't find and group policy that would remove this search box or icon.
What I already tried to do is turning off the WSearch service and several group policy settings but none worked. Another thread here mentioned deleting Windows.Shell.Search.UriHandler.dll and Windows.UI.Search.dll but I am not sure if thats a good idea to do so. Did anybody try this?
What is doing the trick? Thanks a lot,
/chris
