Win8 background wallpaper stuck rather than shuffling through?

I have noticed that the Windows Background Wallpaper may still show the same image for a lot longer than my allotted 10 minute shuffle. Once I "prime the pump" by manually changing it, it seems to work normally. So hard to tell though as I run all my programs in full screen. Anyone else notice this?
While doing a search I found a post by Everready that told how to get rid of those annoying icons on the taskbar that pop up when the wallpaper changes. His solution MAY fix this issue too. I will post if it does.

A background app I've been using since way back in the Vista days is "John's Background Switcher" (John’s Background Switcher « John's Adventures), it tops any background app by far. Here's a tip from an experienced user: Open settings, choose Vladstudio and set the keyword as "abstract", you will be amazed at the most beautiful abstract art on any monitor, set it to change at any interval of your choice. Otherwise, the images are practically limitless.

Keeping the Windows COLORS set to automatic seems to clear up this problem along with those icons appearing on the taskbar. as for windows backgrounds, Gus, I have a 27 inch Dell IPS monitor (acutally 3 of them but the other two are for my sons) and have carefully selected high def Wallpaper images that are STUNNING, absolutely gorgeous. I will keep those running, thanks.

Nope, the Windows color idea did not fix it. Dang it, I have a 27 inch IPS monitor and a couple hundred terrific wallpapers! Well, eventually MS will fix this too (fingers crossed).
