This is my first time posting on the sevenforums/eightforums.
I did some searching around here on this fantastic site and didn't quite find what I was looking for, so hopefully somebody might be able to give me some insight into this question.
I've always been one who can't stand the ordinary interface of the computer and must customize things to look unique and different - maybe it's the graphic artist in me...
Anyhow, I just wanted to get a definitive answer since nobody I've asked has really known:
If I were to customize folders with custom icons using the Folder > Properties > Customize > Folder Icons > Change Icon, or I do also use a program called Folder Marker that is wonderful for simply coloring folders to make them stand out --- and if I would change say hundreds or even a thousand, hehe... would customizing these folders ever affect the performance of my computer?
I have just wondered if I am putting stress on the computer by doing this, or is simply swapping one folder icon for another, irrelevant?
Out of curiosity, what would be taxed if anything? The CPU? The memory? I've just wondered if I should stop my customizing obsession!
I have always found so many useful tips and tricks on the forums over the years, I figured it was about time I ask a question - nobody seems to be able to answer this for me.
Thank you for any assistance with this query, much appreciated.
