Hi all,

Recently after installing a few new Windows 8.1 machines i have noticed that the possibility to change the background and accent color of the new start screen (and accent colors in other screens) seems to dissapear after you set Windows to boot to desktop (and skip the start screen). As you may well know... this setting is sticked automatically when you are not using a device with a touchscreen (eg. a normal PC with mouse and keyboard).

I re-checked a few tutorials to show me how i can change these colors, like:
[How To] change start screen background and accent color in Windows 8.1 Update
(and a few of them which are available here on eightforums).

Whenever i follow these instructions now and click the personalize options, the original Windows config panel is opened for changing your task bar color etc.

Does anyone know how i can still get to the proper dialog for changing these colors?
Because this Accent color is present in more dialogs then the Windows 8 start menu alone, i would still like to alter this one afterwards.

Found it. Windows 8 Start menu has to be active to show the right dialog.
If you open the charms bar and hit personalize from the desktop you will get the windows personalize dialog.
