Hi I was wondering how I can get rid of icons that show up on every program or file I go to in my Windows 8.1 64-bit PC. Here's some pictures to further explain what I'm talking about:

Is there an option or some type of Regedit I can do to get rid of these icons from showing?

Thanks!

I'm afraid it has nothing at all to do with 32 bit or 64.

In earlier versions of windows you would close the window by double clicking in the top lhs corner. I guess someone will say exactly when but it was probably 20 years ago. So no.

I've got used to that so sometimes I try to double click in the top left hand side and it doesn't work.

You can change your whole screen style to look like anything but if you think it will work with really old programs you'll be disappointed.

Send a PM to Edwin - he likes the same sort of look.

Applications control what icons appear where in their toolbars. Some applications have facilities to control this, many do not. There is no universal way to control this.
