How to change default location of a profile in Windows 8.1

I am presently running Windows 8.1 32 bit. When I had Windows 7, I changed the default location of my Music files to another disk. They still reside on that disk. I would like to be able to select Music and have my Windows 8.1 system find everything related to Music on this alternate disk. I would guess that the method of doing this may be different for Windows 8.1 than it was for Windows 7. The article I used for Windows 7 was written by Brink. Can someone direct me to the appropriate tutorial to make this similar change for Windows 8.1. Thank you in advance.

    Hello Richie,

If you like, you could add the folder on the other disk to your Music library.

Library - Add a Folder to in Windows 8

Afterwards, you could also set this folder to be your default save location for the Music library.

Library - Set Default & Public Save Locations in Windows 8

    Hope this helps,

This was much more complicated in Windows 7

    Shawn,

This was much more complicated in Windows 7. It involved changes to the registry and moving the files but since the files are already moved, this procedure seems quite simple. What changes have been made so that the registry no longer needs to be changed?

It's the same in Windows 7 as well, but it sounds like you moved your actual "C:\Users\(user-name)\Music" folder in Windows 7 to another location instead of using libraries like above. Moving a user folder like that involves a bit more work, and a mistake could make it fun to fix. That's why I like using libraries to accomplish the same thing instead. It' much easier and safer to do.
