Great work Vishal did. I'll wait until the next release to see if we can do it by simply adding shortcuts in the WinX group folders instead.

Yes, you would think MS would make it an option.

That would be far to accommodating

I think I'll pass on this too, for now. It's quite clever, but unless people have the foresight to make copies of their configurations, I can see their hard work being lost, as soon as there's a Windows update

MS used a hashing mechanism to prevent access to personalisation (e.g. change wallpaper ) in win7 starter.

Now they using a hashing mechanism to prevent people using WinX as a start menu.

Of course. The MS way is the only way, that's why we have Metro!

I made my own folder, picked the shortcuts from the Groups folders that I wanted and added some additional ones.. That was the esiast way to get my custom set of system functions.

Yes, the whole point of adding to WinX is that you do not have to go to the start screen.

You could make your own toolbar, or shortcut folder, I suppose.

How many of those will you end up with though ?

For desktop operation, I have only 1 toolbar with 6 subfolders at this point. Nothing easier to access programs, websites and folders. And the maintenance is dead simple. I also have a tile for the toolbar folder in Start. Here I could split them up, but I did not do that yet.

And the ones I use all day long are in the Rocket Dock and Start.
