How do I add the Recycle Bin to my start menu?

I used to have the recycle bin in my start menu, under 'R' as an app that I could open and empty, which was way more convenient than finding it. I don't like having any icons on my desktop.

Now that I've reinstalled Windows 8, it's not there in my start menu anymore. The only way I know of to access my recycle bin is adding it to my desktop, but that looks awful in my opinion, because I like a clean desktop.

How do I add the recycle bin to my start menu, without having it on my desktop?

Hello Ryan, and welcome to Eight Forums.

To do so, add the Recycle Bin desktop icon, right click on it, click on Pin to Start, and remove the Recycle Bin desktop icon.

If you like, you could also pin the Recycle Bin to your taskbar, or add it to your desktop context menu.

I usually get beat to an answer because I like to make screenshots.

    Brink gives good answers.

    I do too, sometimes.

    Glad we could help.
