Brink did an excellent tutorial on moving folders randomly but there is another issue I have found with regard to the custom icons on each folder.
Each folder of mine and each sub-folder within has a small .jpg image I use as a custom folder icon. I can allocate the icons OK by going down the computer>C drive>users etc route to get to the customise button but when I decide to run a disk clean (including thumbnails) then the custom options are wiped clean.
This did not happen in Vista. The folders were automatically rebuilt as and when accessed and retained the allocated custom images.
When you have a lot of folders and sub-folders I can't see any other way to use and work with them other than in the traditional Windows Explorer view and with W8 it just looks a mess.
