How to adjust desktop icon labels font size, spacing, etc?

Hi all, I just installed WIn8.1 Prox64 and I'm facing the following issue. I want to be able to adjust the desktop icons' spacing (vertical and horizontal), desktop icons font size, etc. In Windows 7 this was achieved by going to Personalization/Wndow Color/Advanced Appearance Settings and then you'd have a drop down menu with many items to be able to adjust. In Windows 8.1 it seems that this list is much more limited or impossible. Am I missing something or otherwise is there a 3rd party tweaker for this? Thanks

Not sure on font size, but here's a tutorial on Desktop Icons - Change Horizontal and Vertical Spacing in Windows 8

    Hello Antares,

This may be able to help with that.

If you like, you could back up these settings in Windows 7 (if available), and restore them in your Windows 8.1 to set them.

    Hope this helps,

    Thanks Flatiron and Brink.
Brink, regarding your link "Advanced Appearance Settings - Change Text Size for Items in Windows 8" , I've been there when customizing my new Windows8.1x64 installation and that's what I meant when saying that Win8.1 provides more limited options to customize the desktop icons as compared to Windows7.
Regarding your link "Advanced Appearance Settings - Backup and Restore in Windows - Windows 7 Help Forums" that's really cool. So if I apply those steps will I be able to replicate the Windows 7 desktop icons and menus appearance (font size, spacing, title bar color, etc etc) in Windows 8.1? If it works this will solve my issue.

P.D.: I'm still using Win7 until I can sort this out. Installed Win8 in another SSD.

Yep, it'll work for all advanced appearance settings but the color settings since those only work when using a classic theme that's not available in Windows 8/8.1.

So then what settings are applied when merging the "Colors_Backup.reg" file? Thanks

That would be used to restore it's settings in Windows 7. It's of no use in Windows 8/8.1.

So then the only Advanced Appearance setting that I can backup in Windows 7 and later restore in Windows 8 is the WindowMetrics_Backup.reg file? Thanks again

Brink, is there a list of the display properties included in the WindowMetrics_Backup.reg file?

In Win 7 there was a window "Window Color and Appearance" that you accessed from Personalize/Color and could set a number of parameters including H and V icon grid spacing. I don't find it in Win 8.
