Custom Photo Icons for Metro

I would love to be able to use custom photos for launcher tiles. I'm inspired by some of the great screen shots I've seen for Launcher7 for android devices. Does anyone know if it is possible to use something like the icons found here Browsing Customization on deviantART over the tiles?

There is no program /code YET to customize the Metro tiles individually but give it time and it will appear.

I didn't think there would be this early in the game but I do agree something like this has got to be coming.

Yeh, I am looking for something like that too. Would be nice. My grey tiles are really boring.

I'm looking forward to this as well... the Metro screen has a lot of potential once we can start fully customizing the tiles.

I agree. I would like to see an option to customize these as well. There are a couple of simple instructions to change what is already in the OS, but nothing for customization.

It would be great to have your favorite album cover for iTunes, a favorite snapshot for the photo tile, etc.

    Clean install from a corrupted and virus laden Vista original factory install on this ancient laptop.

    Runs like it was at Indy!
The Photo tile can be changed easily. just open it, find the photo you want right click on in and select the option to make it the tile cover. this is the only app it is possible for though

Hi there
I think we all agree here -- especially for "Standard" programs like Office/ photoshop etc -- the tiny icon looks so folorn in that large tile space and to change backgrounds individually would I think get rid of about 90% of the complaints about Metro.

It can't happen soon enough !! -- In my younger days I might have tried to write something but I'm not really a developer -- playing around with some sophisticated graphs etc. on EXCEL is about as near as I get to developing these days.
