move WIN button on start screen to top-right

    Hello ,

new to 8.1, and I must say that with little configuration, the interface can get confortable

    just one more twiqk

can the WINDOWS button on the start screen be move to the top-right corner ?

I use vertical taskbar in the desktop mode, so the windows button on the task bar is on the top-right corner, but in the start menu, it keeps being in the lower-left

Atached a picture for better understanding,

Can this little twiqk be made?

    Hello InTheater,

I don't know if that's possible. If you like, you could use the Start shortcut in the tutorial below that may help give you some flexibility with it.

Not really, but thanks a lot, the thing is, I am so used to move up-right the mouse to go to the windows key,

also, moving between windows screen gets SQRT(1920^2+1200^2) pixels away !! , poor mouse, is getting exhausted...

    Hello InTheater.

I tried what seems to be your request and had no problem.
There is still the charms on the right middle unless that is disabled.
    I dragged the taskbar over.

Doesn't work so well on the main monitor when you have multiple monitors.

    Hello Edwin,

It works the same with multiple displays, but you would need to repeat for each display since the taskbar position is a per display setting.

You're right Shawn, but I gotta slam my cursor into the upper right or lower corner just right to get the bar to reveal from the Start Screen. Too tedious!

I'm working on a tutorial for this that I should have up late tonight to help.

You should be able to drag the mouse pointer down past the bottom of the screen to open the taskbar on the Start screen or in a modern app. Otherwise, you could also press the + T keys to open the taskbar.

    Loking forward !!

the + T keys take me to desktop and focus on the taskbar, but the whole purpose of moving top-right the windows button is to be fast when using the mouse, not the keyboard

    InTheater,

It sounds like you do not have Windows 8.1 Update installed if pressing + T takes you to the desktop instead of opening the taskbar on the screen (ex: Start screen) you are on.

Taskbar - Open in Windows 8.1

The taskbar will only be available on the Start screen if you have Windows 8.1 Update. Do you have all of your Windows Updates installed to be using Windows 8.1 Update?
