too bad Micrososft did not give us the ability to do this, you can change backrounds on the desktop app why not allow what we want on the Metro IU or at least give us a bunch of pre made themes more than what is there now

This is my current Start Screen, it's a little empty as I'm recovering from a hard drive death...

Upside is, Decor8 has been updated, which now allows you to use your Desktop wallpaper as well as a few options, such as Blur, Fade, Color, or Contrast. I currently have a Christmas in New York theme going, and I have a slideshow, and it's on my Start Screen!

Also, I want to say this to say this, I'm a Windows 8 lover and this is one example at how it's not a perfect GODsent OS without flaws. The concept of having the Desktop wallpaper blurred or darken out when you go to the Start Screen is an idea I had when Windows 8 was first shown off last summer. That way, the Desktop and Start wouldn't feel too separate.

My more favorite theme right now is the high contrast theme with a white background. Black tiles, YES!!

WOW! Some of those are beautiful. I havent bothered to do much to mine except some moving and renaming of tiles to make it a bit more user friendly. And I pinned my most used programs to it but otherwise its pretty standard. When I upgrade to Pro retail in the next few weeks I will try some mods and post my results. Wenda.
