Windows 8 Consumer Preview Start Screen Customizer

This is the latest Start Screen customizer and works great with Windows 8!

I love me some red tiles....

You can name the groups by ctrl+scroll down to go to condensed view. Right click the group and a name button appears at the bottom of the screen

Just the kind of thing I have been looking for. I have been wanting to replace my tiles with photos of my choice.

I only wish I could change the color of the tiles and especially make the writing more visible. I ended up with the grey background which seems to be the best for my weak eyes.

Have you tried using the "Ease of Access Center" to make the tiles and the text bigger? Charm bar>Settings>more PC settings>Ease of Access Center>make everything on your screen bigger, slide switch to ON.

Yes I have tried that. But when I make it bigger (essentially increase the DPI), not everything will fit on the screen and I have to work with the scroll bar. That is not very convenient.

Note that both on my laptop and in vBox on my desktop I am working with a 16" screen. In vBox I cannot use i higher resolution than 1152x864 although it is a 22" screen which is normally 1680x1050.

You can tweak the tile color and tile text with the Start Screen Customizer.

Hello, could you help me with this: I been using Windows 8 Consumer preview for several months. It was installed over Vista. Everything worked more than fine, untill about two weeks ago when I install AVG 2012. After that, I couldn't open any program from desktop. Did system restore, removed AVG...
My sound used to work in the consumer preview fine but since I upgraded to the Release Preview I need the volume max and headphones in to hear anything. Any help appreciated. If more info is needed just ask.
