Keybinds?

Hello everyone,

I am currently in the process of migrating my workflow from OSX to Windows 8. I am also currently in the process of fighting almost a decade worth of muscle memory when it comes to typing and keybinds/shortcuts.

My work requires me to use the shortcut Alt+Tab A LOT -- in an OSX Word document, when I used this it would create an indent in a table cell. In windows this obviously changes to the next process / programme. The windows equivalent of this action is CONTROL+TAB -- which for the life of me my fingers refuse to remember. I type fast, faster than I think and so I have really hit a wall with this singular shortcut.

I have tried the Word 2013 customize keystrokes, but it won't accept ALT+TAB as a new shortcut. Nor will it accept my side mouse buttons, or even my middle mouse button which I could live with. I am therefore trying programs outside of Word 2013 to help resolve this.

I have heard of autohotkey but am unable to understand how it works. My question then, now that we come to it, is simple:

Can I use autohotkey to rebind ALT+TAB to function as CONTROL+TAB
And subsequently, can I rebind Windows + TAB to reflect what ALT+TAB used to do. These are the only two shortcuts my brain flat out refuses to let go of.

So in essence I want control tab to do nothing. I'll never use it.

Alt+Tab needs to perform the function of control tab (or create an indent in MS Word 2013)

Windows + Tab needs to perform the altered function of Alt+Tab.

Thank you in advance.

Try SharpKeys

I had the same problem with AutoHotKey, and about 3 other programs too. SharpKeys is very simple, but you can't assign keystroke combinations. You can only swap one key for another. I have been looking for something that I could understand also because I copy and past a lot, but after a whole lot of looking and asking, SharpKeys is the best I could come up with. I would like to warn you, though, I had a really hard time finding a clean and stable download.

I attached the copy I have so that you don't have to go through the same thing. It is a great little program. Hope it works for you!
