Bubbles screensaver Windows 8.1

Does anybody know a way (in Windows 8) to make the Bubbles screensaver behave in the same way as in Windows 7?

In Windows 7: The Bubbles screensaver shows bubbles moving over the top of whatever is on my screen.

In Windows 8: The Bubbles screensaver shows bubbles moving over the top of a solid color background (ugly) :(

Thanks for any creative suggestion :)

hi,its just bubbles over what ever is on my desktop on my win8.1

So (just to make sure I understood right), say you have Office Word open on your screen, you wait without touching the keyboard for whatever amount of minutes you set the screensaver to, and you see the bubbles over your open Word document?

If this is correct, did you do anything special? I do not seem to be the only one who sees bubbles over a solid black or blue background, that's why I am asking.

Which Win 8.1 are you running, Core / Pro / Enterprise / Lite?

Thanks

it looks like its no accident it works the way it does ,this from windows answer web forum .

A design change was made in Windows 8 that prevents screensavers from drawing over an image of the desktop. Any screensaver that previously drew over the desktop, such as Bubbles, will instead draw over a black background.

Yes, I read that too... It is by design that way :(

I guess that the Bubbles screensaver is one more thing (to add to the list) that Micro$oft broke in Windows 8.

I don't consider it broke something ,seem more like a safety feature ,I think .
I personally see no need for a screen save ,I set my to turn off after 10 minutes ,and have been doing so for many years now

Well, broken in the sense that Micro$oft could have left the option to the user to define whether drawing the screensaver on a solid background or on a transparent one... Then up to the user to decide.

Many other features are absolutely not left up to the user to decide (with user I mean the "pro users" so the ones that are sufficiently computer savvy to know what they are doing). Basically in Win 8 I am forced to install/employ 3rd party tools to get around all the possible restrictions imposed by the firm that sold me the OS/hardware... Sorry (a short venting session is always good) ;)

More ridiculous change for change sake. I don't get why people have to fix things that aren't broken.

its only a screen saver function ,whats the big deal ,its not like a person is gonna sit watching the bubbles and hate the solid screen and the activity behind the bubbles [old way it worked]is frozen to when the screen saver starts .
just saying ,i know its to each there own

I'm sorry, I don't see it as anything but annoying. I've been running screensavers in Windows since their inception and I don't see any need for this imaginary "safety" issue. If anyone from Microsoft is reading these, fix the screensavers back to the way they were, or at least give us the option of doing it ourselves.

Frankly I am quite tired of Microsoft making windows second guess everything I want to do. If there are really people out there so fearful or incapable that they need a guided hand for every little thing they do then Microsoft needs to either offer two kinds of OS or give the rest of us the option to run our computers as we like.

Yes, this particular issue is minor but still annoying and just indicative of how much windows tries to "protect" us from ourselves.

I had to create an account just to thank you for the link. Followed the instructions and it worked perfectly. The only problem I have with this is..........well.......you might have to go to your screensaver settings and changed the minutes to something higher than a minute, since there's a slight delay in time.

For example: I changed the screensaver minutes to 10 minutes and the bubbles showed up like expected after a few minutes.

Thank you so much.

Some people here don't bother to say thank you.

It's very nice to hear it said. :)
