I have been doing a bit more playing around with Photo-Shop, learning and practicing.

Results have ranged from reasonable to outright crap, but I'm getting used to it, and I reckon I can only get better.

Here are a couple I did this afternoon, what do you think? All constructive advice welcome.

I think you're getting much better at it, Wenda.

Round the corners on those and they'll look really great.

Thanks for that vote of confidence, Hippsie Gipsy, I do appreciate it.

Yes, I want to round the corners off, that's the next step I'll be looking at.

It's all new to me, but I'll get there.... just taking things step by step - hitting
'Help' a lot, and consulting my PDF copy of 'Photo-Shop CS2 for Dummies'
    as I go.

    Wenda.

EDIT: - Here's another I've been playing with. It's probably been done before, but
do check the pupils of the eyes out.

Felt like a change, decided to go with this one.

It's not quite finished, I need to put a border around it, but I'll do it when I have time.

    Wenda.

EDIT: - I finally got around to doing the border. Looks heaps better, I think.

EDIT 2: - And put in a couple of pics as practice using layer effects, of my
dog Jenna and my cat Milko, both sadly no longer with me.

It's mostly about my free time, and I haven't had much. I'm making an app for iOS and Windows 8, so thats been filling most my time. Thanks, and I've missed the gang here at Eight Forums. I'm glad to see that you're still there!
And don't worry, I'll be sticking around. Thanks!

Windows Avatars? in General Support
Wouldn't that be a novel idea? Instead of the boring, and often WTF-worthy user pictures, how about W8 users get to create their own Windows Avatar akin to the ones found on the Xbox 360? The avatar could represent your profile on Windows, and could make little appearances in certain apps, like...
