    Maximize vertically

Can I make it so that if I move a window to the top of the screen, the window maximizes vertically, and not just maximize to full screen like by default?

Something like that might be coded for you here:

or if they know of a program that does it already they may suggest it. Please read the guidelines before posting. I code some of the requests there. It doesn't sound difficult. But there may be a free "snap" enhancement that does it alreay.

Hello Dragonfall. Welcome to 8 Forums.

Dragging a window frame to the left or right edge will snap it vertically maximized (not full screen).

It was my impression the OP wanted vertical max with the width unaffected. But I could be wrong.

I don't know. If the OP drags the frame to the top, it will be maximized full screen.
Or maybe full screen means something else to the OP. I don't know.
    I probably misunderstood the question.

.Ah, I see. That jogs my memory. I tend not to use snap features since I like to code my own behavior with hotkeys. I hate it when stuff happens when the mouse pointer hits an edge. It sets me on edge.

Nice one Dave. I can honestly say that I have never double clicked on that vertical window resize pointer.

    Yep.
    I just tried that.

I got the double pointed cursor to appear & double clicked it & the window resized.
