    Remove external drives from the 'send to' context menu

    I have removed the not needed options in the right click 'Send To' context menu but am still left with a list of external drives which I also want to remove...see picture.

    Click image for larger version

    How can I remove this list of external drives.

    Thanks

    I know how it worked in windows 7 , you could add a registry entry to remove all drives , I'm not sure you can remove just external ones.

    Remove Drives

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
    "NoDrivesInSendToMenu"=dword:00000001

    Re-Show Drives

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]
    "NoDrivesInSendToMenu"=-

    Re-booting then made the changes work

    Im not sure if it's the same in Windows 8 though.

    Hi Wullail, Thank you for your suggestion.
    I looked in the Registry but can only get as far as 'Policies' which has no entries.

    Thanks for trying to help.

    Exactly what I linked to in my first reply , I guess he didn't try adding the .reg entries.

    Thank you my2cents...following your link has done what I wanted.

    Sorry Wullail...I did not realize I was meant to add the Reg entries you posted...I thought I was meant to find them under Policies/Explorer...but they were not there.

    Thanks to you all for your help.

    Regards
