US keyboard layout reappears

Though I set my Keyboard layout: Latin American, the US Keyboard layout is reappearing constantly.

Please, how I can prevent my US Keyboard layout from bothering me?

I do want:
Keyboard layout: Latin American
Windows display language: US
Date, time and number formatting: US

But I do not want the US Keyboard layout.

I have to be always pressing Alt Left + shift and that is very annoying.
Thanks

Looks like you are already setup to what you want, maybe if you remove the English part. ??

What I had to do is go to options in the US language and delete US keyboard so I only had French left as an input method. Like this...

Thank you for your willingness to help. I'm going crazy right now.
Regarding CountMike, no I do not want to remove ALL English. Indeed I want to "see" everything in English (even date, time format) though I want my keyboard writing with the Latin American keyboard. And it seems that right now when I'm writing in Englihs my computer concludes that I should write with the US keyboard layout and applies immediately that keyboard, and I DO NOT WANT that.

Regarindg Adamf, please can you let me know in which way should I go in other to do what you said. It seems that you had the same "problem" if you were able to solve it I'm very much interested.

thanks and God bless!

What I did was define French keyboard when I installed OS (EN-US). When I went to language preferences and clicked on options against English US I saw screen like below. I clicked on remove for US input method and now it looks like in post 5. It works fine.

I added the French language (using French keyboard) afterwards.

Hope this helps.

No, you are not going to loose everything English, just keyboard code page for English. Latin American will stay as default and all of your buttons will do the same thing as before.

Thank you both of you.

Adamf, I realized that your's was different. So I switched to your set up.
I guess it will work. Time will say.

Thanks so much!

Adamf,
Moreover I saw that you have as a second input method language the US and I did not do that fearing that it will bother me again the US keyboard.

However, the possibility to change manually to the US Keyboard for extraordinary cases would be also of benefit to me.

For that reason I'm writing you again: by adding a second Input method, are you still always "in control" of your keyboard (i.e. to type with the French keyboard not being bother by any other keyboard) and whenever you want by pressing Alt Left + Shift change to the US Keyboard for extraordinary cases, going back later to French?

Thanks!

Actually, I deleted US input method. My set-up is like post 5. When I installed windows I had 2 input methods but I deleted US to stop my keys being mapped wrongly sometimes.

well, I have bad news. I thought I solved it... but I was minutes ago writing -even in Spanish- in Word 2013 and it came back to English.

Here is my set up. What should I do? I guess I do not have to reformat my computer? (BTW I did not log off for all this either)

The only setting that is different from mine is "Allow me to set a different input method..." below. If it is not that then I don't know what else to suggest, sorry :-(

Can I settle my keyboard layout to just one?

I've already asked in different places and I never got a definitive answer.

Is there a way to set up W8 to avoid changing the keyboard layout so as to keep only in one keyboard layout (Latin American Keyboard). Bear in mind that I would like to keep US English as the Windows display language.

Your help is appreciated.

Thanks

Thank you.
I visited the link you mentioned.
Very interesting. At least it shows that there IS a problem.

However it is very long and there are thousands of suggestions. Do you know which are the registry changes to be made? The problem is that I'm not an expert.
Thanks
