Custom desktop icons are low quality

Recently i tried to change shortcut icons on desktop with 256x256 new ones made in photoshop.
When i open .ico file it seems fine but when they are on desktop,i can see pixels,i tried to google it but everything sends me to offtopic.
On RocketDock or any other dock icons seems fine , but i don't know why they are low quality when on desktop.

I use Microangelo to make icons.
It's not free but does a good job.

I'm not being a smart-aleck But they need to be made good to start with.

You can import an image into IrfanView & resize it to 32x32 & save as .ico.

But you don't get an Icon Set.
A set consists of a number of sizes & colors.-- 16x16,32x32,48x48,64x64,256x256, XP color, True Color, ETC.

With Microangelo you can create Icon Sets.

It might be called fish.ico but contains half a dozen images of different sizes & color types.
The computer chooses which image to display in which circumstance.

It took me long time to figure out all this & I still have a lot to learn.

It takes a lot of patience & practice. :)

Well it weird because my 256x / 64x icon turns into 32x one (I think so)

Well maybe windows doesn't support blured icon?
