    bubbles screen saver issue

I hope it is ok to jump in here with a question. I'm new to this forum. I have windows 8. I like the wallpapers that you can put on it. Then I turn on the bubble screen saver. On my windows 7 computer, the wallpaper stays and the bubbles go on top of it. You can still see the wallpaper. On the windows 8 computer the bubbles come on and there is a plain blue screen behind it. Can't see the wallpaper. Is there some way to make it show?

It works here on 64bit W8.

I don't know it it runs well on hi-contrast themes. With normal themes all should be fine.

Thank you for your reply. Can you steer me to where the color bits are?

    Color bits?

Windows 8 has 32bit color resolution. All looks fine.

    Look at screen resolution options:

On Win7 you would see 16bit but not on Win8. But using 32bit color is OK.

I'm not sure if it's related to some settings or the graphics drivers.

When I go to that area all the choices are 32 bit.

    Yes. That's good.

    Are the graphics drivers updated?

Not sure. I guess this is more hassle than it is worth. I don't like to mess with too many things as I don't know what I"m doing. Suppose I could make things worse!! Thanks for your help.

    Alright then.

Sorry I wasn't of much help here: it's the first time I see that particular issue.

But don't worry about it, it's a minor thing, and maybe will sort itself out through time/updates.

    appreciate

I appreciate any help. LIke you said, small issue. I guess I could just not put on a screen saver and the wallpapers will just change. They say we don't need screen savers like in the old days.

It's true: screensavers aren't needed because most LCD screens turn blank / sleep if computer is not used for about 10 minutes or so (depends on settings).

I don't use any because laptop screen turns itself off: in that case even a screensaver wouldn't be seen. Besides screensavers consume CPU power depending how complex are the things they display.

You could use the Blank screensaver if still in doubt:
It doesn't do much, displays dark screen, uses no CPU and if the pc screen will turn off or not in time, this screensaver will do that after the requested time anyway.

    Cheers!
