    Document Flip?

So, I bought a pricey Logitech Matrix MX or Revolution mouse that (among other things) flips between the last two open programs (and, more specifically, the last-used document or file within that program). Fabulous--until I switched to Windows 8. Now that function doesn't work, and apparently can't be made to work.

Any suggestions for accomplishing the same thing without hunting-and-clicking on the taskbar? Which is a REAL pain when the last program's on a "second" unseen taskbar or you have to hover over the icon and then choose one of the displayed mini-windows.. Thanks for any help!

    Hello John,

If you have not already, do you have the latest and correct 32-bit or 64-bit SetPoint 6.52.74 drivers for your 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 8 installed for it?

I have 6.51.2. It shows as 32 bit, though the Logitech forums say this is typical even when it's 64. Those forums also say 6.51.8 screws up a whole slew of things when used in W8. At any rate, a chat with Logitech support left me with 'It doesn't work in W8 and we don't know why or whether it will be fixed.' Not terribly encouraging.

And so I was wondering about other ways to accomplish the same thing...

Have you tried the 6.52.74 version to see how it does?

Whoops, sorry I misread the version number in your post. I'm always hesitant to switch to a newer release when it seems worse than the old. (One issue being it's sometimes difficult to revert to the old again.) According to Logitech forums, ...74 doesn't address the problem, and causes new problems.

Isn't there an equivalent shortcut, macro, BAT or program that can perform a simple document flip in W8? Seems to me if it could be done in XP, there's gotta be SOME way to do it in W8? Though of course that might require figuring out how the MX Revolution mouse did it in XP etc...

    Thanks again!

Other than the taskbar or a mouse button, you could use the methods in the tutorials below to switch between opened apps.

Okay. Interesting, helpful. But what I'm REALLY looking for is a switcher that takes me to the most recently maximized window--that is, the last one I used before the currently-open window. Without the necessity of having to sort through a few dozen other open apps. So: I'm looking at source material while writing an article, say. I hit a shortcut and--bam--I'm in the source material. Do it again and--back to the article I'm writing. Again--back to the source material. Etc. The Logitech folks call this "document flip." Don't know if anyone else does...

I'm not aware of any other way other than the "Document flip" option with the Logitech button.

you could just assign Alt+Tab to your mouse's document flip button. It wouldn't switch between multiple windows like you can by holding alt and tabbing through, but it would switch back and forth between the two most current windows.
