ok, ive tried a few things but i cant even find the .srt file type extension in the file associations.
i have windows 8 manager and its pretty simple to change an icon for a filetype,
the trouble is i cannot see the srt extension in the list.
i want to change it from a generic blank page file icon

and i downloaded the other srt icon,
will have another try 2mo,bed now
thanks
update,
try as i mite i couldnt get the srt files to change so i have set them to open with my media player "slash pro"
, so in a movie folder i have a movie thumbnail and a large splash pro icon that is the srt file, so at a glance i can see its an srt.
crappy workaround but i guess its similar to when i use windows 7 an srt file has a small page icon with wmc logo on it.
thank you deeprana the nirsoft tool worked, i didnt need to try the subtitleedit ,it worked fine without it.
i decided to make a new srt icon that was similar to the splash pro icon i was using ,
thanks again.
i repped you when i saw the post deeprana64.
just a tip.
the admins and most members dont like it when people ask for rep.
just a heads up. people have been banned for it in the past.
