How to change the width of minimized taskbar icons

    Hi All,

    I am running Windows 8.

I want the minimized taskbar items to be bigger and show labels on them.

Please check the attached items to see what I mean. I am having icons smaller as shown in the fig 1 but I want them to be as in figure 2.

Hi Muneer, welcome to the Eight Forums.

You need to select Combine when taskbar is full or Never combine from Taskkbar buttons in Taskbar Properties. Also as your Taskbar is located at bottom (default position) and there's only liited space, I recommend you select Use small Taskbar buttons.

Right click an empty spot in Taskbar, select Properties from context menu to change above settings.

    Dear Kari,

Thanks for the reply. I tried the procedure you suggested.

But I did not get the expected results. In fact it got worse. The icons width got little smaller and they turned completely blank with no logos. Please see the picture below:

Is it happening due to 7 + Taskbar Tweaker I have installed. Here are the 7+ settings:

I have never understood why on earth people are so desperate to destroy a well working Windows installation with these tweakers?

What you want to achieve can easily be done as I told in my previous post. I am of course talking about default Windows settings, I cannot know if and when a user has decided to "fix" Windows so that the default features are not functioning as planned and parts of the Windows have become non-functioning.

Restore your system to an earlier point before installing that useless tool.
