    Changing a registry entry

I created a reg file to change the registry entry that switched the start menu to something usable on a real computer. When I run it I get "Cannot import C:\ Start Menu On.reg: Error accessing the registry".

However, if I go into the registry and modify it, there is no issue and the W7 start menu is alive and well.

Anyone know why I get the error?

Lemme guess, you're trying to set rpenabled to 0 to disable the metro UI. If yes, copy and paste the following text in notepad.

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

Save the file as whatever.reg and double click it to merge with the registry.

I was reading the Sunday ads and at Staples they show 4 laptops with touchscreens all around $600. They are from Lenovo, Dell, Acer and HP (which is a convertible). Processors are i5,i3 and Atom. I think the Lenovo is probably the nicest deal. Ocala Staples Weekly Ad
