    Graphical challenge

It's a challenge for me to get the result I'd like anyway. Cut/ Paste doesn't always work.
Hopefully someone with those skills could give my Mom a 'multi-colored' spike with some spikes leaning left & right.

If you could help, I will appreciate it.
    Thank you

    Hello pc.
No one was responding and I was curious what you meant by multi colored spikes "leaning"
If you want to add leaning arrows (or spikes), you can do so with MS Paint.

    I probably misunderstand.
Paint Shop Pro can add layers to an image.
Not sure what you mean by cut/paste doesn't work all the time?
With what program? Why wouldn't it work? Copy/Paste? ok?
Maybe you solved the graphical challenge already.
Someone else may have better info.

Something like this. I don't have PSP now. I know about Gimp & others but I don't know how to work with layers. Just understand the basic concept of layers.

PSP and GIMP's layer system works the same:
If you paint something, let's say the spikes, on a new layer then the original picture (usually named background) remains intact. So layers provide a safe way to paint without destroying original footage. You can add as many layers as you want and paint different stuff on each: they will all form a nice result together. You can even disable (eye icon) some layers you don't need. Layers are stacked from top to bottom: the background image should be placed at the bottom and the layer(s) on top of it. Visibility is prioritized from top to bottom and It's good to make all layers coming on top transparent to see through them (you see through layers).

if you try for yourself, you'll get the hang of it pretty fast.
GIMP is free and works nice.

    General rule:
Make sure you select a layer before painting otherwise you paint on a wrong layer or the background itself.

Graphical boot menu gone in Performance & Maintenance
Hi there. I am trying my best to get the graphical boot menu back, the one in blue. All I have is the text version, of black and white. I have followed the tutorial 5245-startup-options. Done it twice, with no success. Settings show all according to the tutorial: default is 'current', identifier is...

I know the complaints all you haters have. I know you think that the Desktop isn't prominent enough. I know you want a Start menu on the Desktop. I'm aware of all of this. In fact, up until yesterday, while I loved Windows 8 RP, it did feel a bit awkward going from Desktop to Metro all the...
