Metro folders and colors

as a relative newcomer to win 8.( despite some trials that kept me uninterested) forced with 8 os on new laptop

i am coming to enjoy it more. i pretty much ignore the metro start

anyway cut to the chase,

what i would liked to have seen in win 8 was metro style folders that could change color depending on the color scheme chosen by the user.

any developers out there ?

if you know of any folder changers that work please post a link.

I had it forced on me when our old lappy died. Ive had to install a third party app to get the start button back to stop the wife moaning at me all the time (like it was my fault). I wish they had made a new os instead of taking a sideways step and trying to figure out ways to make win 7 harder to use (which as far as i can tell is all they did with win 8 )

The best way to "mod" win 8 is to wipe your drive and install 7

i use start8 i like win 8 i have a couple of annoyances but on the whole it performs well for me. i would have liked the choice to put the details pane at the foot of a window though as it irritates me with it taking over two inches of the right of a window
i have to click to toggle it which is annoying, i suppose i got used to it a different way in vista and win7 but i dont see having to toggle the details pane just to see the length of a movie file as beneficial.

I have no issues with the way win 8 performs I just dont like the way they have implemented it. Being a long time pc gamer and overclocker (and as a result coming across pretty much every fault or issue windows has had to offer over the years , most of it my own doing ) id consider myself quite advanced when it comes to windows , but win 8 has had me scratching my head , googling and asking questions on here to do sometimes quite basic tasks ........... I suppose if i had a tablet id be happier with it

Are you looking for something like in the picture below ?

thanks medab1 , no i meant the generic explorer folders, i have never liked the yellow folder in explorer and have used dark ones in vista and 7, i would have thought MS would have changed this in 8 given the changes they have already made.

OK.
I've changed a few yellow folders to custom icons.(So I can find them easier)
Another giant step backwards by Microsoft was to remove the ability to change scroll bar colors, etc.

I have Home of Microangelo: The Grand Daddy of Icon Software

They have a free Trial version of the ToolSet.
The full version costs $$$.

I used my full version to change some yellow folders to various colors.
You might want to check it out.

that looks interesting, if you used in win 8 did it display the folders correctly with the content thumbnails showing on the folder ,i changed my folders the other day but the content thumbs didnt show, i may have had to rebuild the thumbnail cache but i reverted to defaults as i wasnt happy with just the open closed folders changed i still saw yellow zip folders and yellow user folders, im waiting for an icon pack from mr grim over at virtual customs. hes working on a dark win 8 icon pack atm.

i found these but im not keen on the yellow folder but its along the lines i was thinking. be good if there was a tool that allowed the colors to change with the system color changes.
