"Yaaay everything works now, but it won't let me pin a batch file to the start screen. So I sent it to the desktop as a shortcut then tried to pin that shortcut to the start screen...nope it won't give me the option for some reason?"

I cannot pin a bat to the Start screen either.
But a shortcut to it, I can.

Sorry guys I didn't looked into the details from previous posts.

Normally, shortcuts are pinnable to Start.

If we are still not allowed to pin an item (read shortcut), we can move it manually to "%appdata%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs"

It will still not be seen on the Start Screen but it's available:
We search it on the Start Screen or look it up in All Apps section to then pin it if needed. Works all the time.

Just to clarify I CAN pin shortcuts to the start screen, I can not pin a shortcut if it points to a bat file; if the shortcut points to anything else but a bat it is pinable.

I did not even try skipping using a batch file, because if I do that then it will function like double clicking on the EXE which PROMPTS A CONFIRMATION and I do not want any confirmations. The batch file seemed to override the confirmation dialog?

Let us start all over again and don't use the bat file

    1. Copy EmptyRecycleBin.exe to C:\Users\(YourUserName)\Documents
    2. Navigate to My Documents where you have EmptyRecycleBin.exe and right click on the empty space->new->Create Shortcut then you'll see a screen below and type the full path as shown on the screen. Click Next

    3. Give it a name, for example "Trash it"
    4. Right click on the "Trash it" shortcut and pin to Start Screen.
    5. Done

Like I said before, I can pin a shortcut of the batch file to Start.
It shows up in Metro & Classic Shell Start.

    BUT,

As per your suggestion to add /Q to the target path of the shortcut to the EXE file, that works just fine.
I didn't use your zipped up ones as I already had the EXE downloaded & installed.
I posted pictures of it, I think.

Since your method works good, the batch file is not needed.

    Hopachi added good information too.

Like stated in previous posts, just add /Q in the target path of the shortcut & click Apply & OK to set it.
It over-rides the confirmation popup too.
I have tested it & it works good that way.
Just keep both in the same folder.
Put the exe icon from the installed program in My Documents & create a shortcut there from it like Topgun said.
    Then pin it to Start.
    All done.

Go to "Indexing options", select modify to get this screen. Choose the drives you want indexed. Windows search shows what is in the index.
