Greatings,

so, my win was set up to change the background at every 6 hours. Just noticed that is not changing for a few days now and went to the personalization to check it. All the themes are looks now like a black square, though i can select pictures or any solid color for background and is changeable from the "next background" rightclick on the desktop. I'm not into custom themes or whatnot, never installed any, using only the ones provided with Win8. Can anybody give an ideea what happened and how to fix it? I did a video driver update last week, could be that? Also did "IncreaseUserVA 2048" thingy for FSX.

thnx in advance,

Ok, a little update - logged in on the other account and there the themes thingy looks and works ok. But on my (administrator) account the themes looks like the picture. I can setup backgrounds and they change whatever timing i put in there. After a restart "forgets" what pictures was chosen, and stays with the last one when it was shut down. Also installed a few new themes from the MS site, they show up on the list, but all black.

Installed Win8 in Dec. , last year and the problem just came up recently. Also started to change my cursor to the old "95" style.But...since the another account was working fine, figured that i'll create another account to see if it works. It was fine, so i transferred via Easy Transfer all the account details and it's working fine since then. However, still have no ideea what could cause that.

some info

its good if its fixed now... it could have been caused by some missing/corrupted system files for that account...
it can be fixed by opening command prompt as administrator(win key+x)
and type:
sfc/scannow
press enter and the computer will fix the currupt registry...
u will have to restart to notice change... of any errorss are fixed then the command prompt will tell you... thanks
