    Steps:

    1. Right click the task bar and unlock it.
    2. On your primary monitor, click and drag your task bar to the second monitor. This will make the task bar previously on your secondary monitor (the one without a clock) jump over to the first.

This is so simple there's not a snowballs chance in hell that I'd thought of it myself.

Edit: Of course, if you want the clock on both, this won't help.
    This worked perfectly thank you

Display fusion the multi monitor program puts a clock on each task bar, you can customise what is shown on each of the task bars.
have a look here DisplayFusion: Multi-Monitor Taskbar, Multi-Monitor Screen Savers, HotKeys, Multi-Monitor Wallpaper, Windows Logon Changer and more... the latest version integrates really well with win8

Do you still have to use the DisplayFusion taskbar, or can you use the windows 8 or 8.1 taskbar?

The problem with the method gaspodeagain suggests, is that when using start8 pressing the start button on the primary monitor opens the start menu on the secondary monitor.

On the main taskbar, click on "Taskbar >> properties >> taskbar tab >> taskbar buttons >> "Never combine". That'll do it.

How do I change the taskbar clock to another style?
I can't find the right setting. I know I used to be able to change the style of this clock ( perhaps with XP) , Windows gave you lots of fancy options/styles to change this clock to. I need to use a different style because this desktop is so bright it washes out the time and I can't see it.
