Solved Metro Screen or Start Screen Background

Just a quick question about customizing my Metro Screen. How can I change the background image on my Metro or Start/Tile Screen? Is it possible? If so, can somebody please help me out concerning that?

You could use the program Decor8 by Stardock to do so. It's not free, but it's only $4.99 and lets you try out it for a while before needing to purchase or uninstall it.

You need to go into Settings (gear icon), the Personalize, then Lock Screen.

Nevermind this is not the correct answer because you want to change the background for the place where you see the Metro tiles.

So far I like decor8 better than by other ones, you can trial it for one month also

There's a free program available called Windows 8 Start Screen Customizer that also does a very nice job with it. I even used it in OPTION TWO of the tutorial below.

Hi, I have a question about Windows 8 Start Screen Customizer
I've used it for a while and decided to unninstall it, but I didn't do a backup of original imageres.dll file with default Win8 start menu backgrounds, and now they're gone!! How can I get them back, can someone upload the original imageres.dll file, so I can just replace it? Please help me, I expect your answers fast..and sorry for my bad english.

Imageres should be in its folder.
So what happened there... must have been an older version of the customizer...

Easy way:
Run sfc /scannow to try to restore it.
If files are missing, they will get restored.

Manual way:
search for "imageres" in winsxs folder, where many backup files are kept and get one imageres from there.
It should contain amd64 or x86 in the name so use the one that matches your system.
So nobody needs to upload any file and that way you get the original back.
