How do I change the taskbar clock to another style?

I can't find the right setting. I know I used to be able to change the style of this clock ( perhaps with XP) , Windows gave you lots of fancy options/styles to change this clock to. I need to use a different style because this desktop is so bright it washes out the time and I can't see it.

Hello Dark Rider,

I haven't test this in Windows 8, but you might see if the free program Atomic Alarm Clock may work for you. It allows you to change the skin of the clock.

Hope this helps, :)

I tried it already.. LOL.. and many other apps that I found. Seems they like Windows 7 but not windows 8.

Even my beloved app to uninstall things from a right click menu from a desktop shortcut won't work in Win 8. For me, it's a Must Have app.

Edit: I realize one reason for my problem not being able to see the clock clearly is that the taskbar is transparent. A google search turns up there is No Way to change this transparency on the taskbar. They say this was done by design. It sucks. If I could make the numbers black instead of white that would help but there is no option for this either.

Came across this post here which confirms it: http://www.eightforums.com/customiz...ch-while-running-full-screen-application.html

I wanna bump this cus I Really need a solution. This task bar clock isn't worth having at all if it's not readable.

Are others having this problem?

O.k. this is funny. I was gonna take a snipping tool screen shot to show you guys how bad it is and I realized I had to un-auto hide the task bar to do it. Turns out it's only transparent in auto hide mode. In regular mode it's solid enough to read the clock.. still a lil washed out but readable. So leaving it in regular mode will solve my problem but that's annoying leaving it in this mode too. I can't win it seems.

Hi there,

The good news is you can do both: non-transparent taskbar and black clock text!

Use Aerolite instead of normal theme.

To skip you the editing part, use the theme in zip attachment.

To look at how it's done see this:

Hope this helps.
