Hello,

Excuse my English.

I don t know if the case is possible but I ll explain what I would like to do.

Alternatively, I d like to select something from right to left by a mouse mouvement from the opposite, left to right.
From the letter I clicked, to the opposite lenght.

Please, don t change general mouvement of mouse, only selection.

Is that correct ?

Thanks a lot if you can answer me.

Hello, lapeste. Welcome to EightForums.

I'm assuming this is in the Start Screen, which scrolls left to right. You want to change that direction to right to left?

If so, I don't think that's possible. I'm a shortcut keys guy, so I use the arrow keys (all directions) to pick a tile individually, or page up/page down, or end or home.

I hope that's what you mean. :)

Exactly what I want is to select some text in any document by moving cursor to the opposite. But the cursor moves into the direction of the movement you make with your hand.

I don t want any solution with sakasa mouse, too restrictive.

I see what you mean now.

The only thing I know of is using the Shift key method. This will ony work in the writing/editing mode of a text document. It will not work in a browser (that I know of).

Method 1: Move the text cursor (using mouse click or arrow keys) to the farthest point right of what you want to highlight. Hold down the Shift key. Push the left arrow key down until it reaches the farthest point left to select the text. As you will see, the text highlights as the curser moves along. If you go to far, you can reverse back with the right arrow key, but you cannot let up on the Shift key, otherwise it discontinues the operation. You will have to start over. This can be performed in either direction.

Method 2: Move the text cursor (using mouse click or arrow keys) to the farthest point right of what you want to highlight. Hold down the Shift key. Slide your mouse cursor to the farthest point left and right click. The text will highlight. If you go to far, you can reverse back with right-clicking the mouse to the correct spot, but you cannot let up on the Shift key, otherwise it discontinues the operation. This can also be performed in either direction.

I see what you mean but that is not exactly what I want to perform.

I still want to use my mouse to select, maybe by hitting a button but selection by mouse movement.

Shift solution doesn t give me satisfaction at all because I want to see my cursor going to the opposite of selection, and possibly naturally.

Thanks.

Sorry. I don't know of any method or software where one moves the mouse in one direction and selects in the opposite direction. I would think it would have to be in mouse settings, which simply aren't there. Perhaps you might write or call Microsoft. Good luck.
