So i got this problem: When I go to the pc settings screen, I can't see most of it because colors are all messed up; the only things that do show up is the menu on the left and some other things but only when I drag the mouse over it, and the rest is all black. This is really frustrating me, can anyone help me out on how to make it normal how it should be?

I have the same problem.

I searched the web all over and cant find this problem or solution.

The problem is actually " Windows 8 ui style errors"

The windows 8 ui works fine after initial set up, but after a number of changes the styles get corrupted somehow. I will post some screenshots later.

But the start fonts in the start is messed up, all the menus have bade style backgrounds which do not allow you to see the selections until you hover over it with the mouse.

One question I have, because I did not install much. Did you allow and install framework 2.0 and steam? Because I did and I do not see anything else which could have changed this.

Also, I downloaded 2 themes from microsoft, but they should not have changed the ui to have such error.

This is really a pain and obvious bug in the OS programming it needs to be fixed by microsoft, for somereason I cant access their forums atm.

Had the same thing. I found I had to reinstall my Nvidia beta drivers without using driversweeper. I just reinstalled driver only over itself and that undid the exact problem you have

Yeah, same thing that Jungster showed in screenshots. I installed framework 3.0 (I think), no steam though. Yesterday I remembered I forgot to update the graphics drivers (nvidia), did that but it didn't fix the problem.

If you have intergrated graphics try to see if that works just as a test to see if its an incompatible dedicated gpu driver.

Where can I change the graphics device to integrated? I believe I set it to nvidia card that I got on initial start-up.

**EDIT**
Solved, I changed the preferred graphics processor to AUTO via Nvidia control panel. Thanks for the suggestions and hopefully this thread can be of help to others having this problem :)

I wish I could say I resolved the problem, but my windows 8 metro ui is messed up still. I reinstalled my graphics driver for the geforce 650 ti and the problem persists. I did not really understand the integrated driver thingy, also I didnt see anything referring to that in my nvidia control panel. But i changed settings from user preferences emphasizing quality to app controlled and that did not work.

Has anyone found a solid solution to this yet? I cant really use my messaging its to messed up lol. And its kind of lame.

If you change the resolution does it still do the same thing. I also had to run an amd auto scan to update my catalyst control centre. May not be any different but i know if i try to install driver from disk it want work. Maybe the monitor but i doubt it. If you go to your desktop and open a video does the same thing happen or a game.

Actually i lowered the resolution and it fixed it, but i dont want to lower it, my native is 1900 by 1200.

I will look into the amd auto scan i installed catalyst in compatability mode so far. thnx. will get back to ya

Ok, so After lowering my resolution i obviously set it back to normal high resolution. Just that alone seemed to refresh something and make it all well again:)

Mine did exactly the same thing again, using Nvidia 310.54 beta and EVGA 560ti SC. fixed it by reinstalling the driver only over itself - no clean install, no Driversweeper -- just install the driver, and all good again. ?? It's beyond me....

Hello all, was anyone able to solve this issue without either changing the resolution or updating the driver as I did so and it still shows the same colour error. Thanks in advance!

Rather than updating the driver, just try reinstalling it over itself - no safe mode, no clean install, just install it again. Worked for me.
