    “File Explorer” Target Command Line??

I see that “Windows Explorer” has been replaced by “File Explorer”. I don’t see much difference, but I would like to have it open with the C: drive expanded in the left pane and folders shown in the right pane.

Any update on the target command line to do that?

    I’ve tried…
    %windir%\explorer.exe C: ,e
But that doesn’t expand in the left pane.

use %windir%\explorer.exe /e, c: - just as used to work in Win 7 - and make sure you select the option in Explorer to automatically expand folders.

Hello Dave8 and trevrev. Welcome to the Eight Forums.

The explorer ribbon provides a means to configure how the file explorer opens without command line switches.

sure, but that does not change the initial folder it displays, which was the issue here.

Hello trevrev. The File Explorer can be configured in many ways without the need for command line switches.

You can pin a folder (or folders) of your choice to the start screen which opens the file explorer (which is the same as My Computer) exactly the way you might want it to be.
