Hi there
for once Apple seems to be following rather than leading the pack.
From "Street Whisper" the new Iphone 5 to be unveiled this week doesn't really offer anything that isn't out there already - and forcing people to do everything via iTunes doesn't help either.
I'm still glad I got the Samsung Galaxy III-s.
The new Windows 8 phone by Nokia could be a winner too -- much as I have reservations about some aspects of W8 as a desktop / workstation OS it certainly is just right (or even ideal) on a mobile device - and the chance of running some proper Windows applications on a phone is certainly a benefit too.
Apple's time IMO has been and gone -- It might be cash richer than US federal gov at the moment -- but this huge pile of cash will gradually wane away.
After all what do they make now that people really want in droves. - Nobody needs iPods any more -- music easily handled on smart phones, their macbooks while nice are wallet bustingly expensive, and the aging iPhone looks decidedly Dinosaur like in comparison with the likes of Samsung, HTC etc.
Cheers
